Most para-legals work for law firms. This amounts to any area of law except criminal law which may require more than a para-legal title. Usually criminal law firms use legal investigators by title. There are not many business/ corporations who keep staffs of para-legals. There are para-legals who practice as Representatives in non-profit business/ corporations capacities such as Social Security, Immigration and generally in Federal Administrative hearings.
